The big night out - Riposto style

Last night we had dinner with many of the cousins on the paternal grandfather's side.   We met all of these people on our trip to Sicily 4 years ago.  Ironically, 2 of the cousins hadn't seen each other in many years - because they weren't at the same meetings last time.

I was truly stretched to try and understand what people were saying.  It didn't help that several of the cousins were talking to each other in Sicilian.   I really need to study my Italian verbs more, also.

From the bottom left- clockwise:  Rita, me, Maria, Elianna, Elianna's husband, Carmello (Rita's son), Marcella, Pietro (Marcella's husband), Nina (Cici's wife), Cici, Piero, Nilla (Rita's daughter), Lou, 1/2 of Salvadore's head.

And from another angle:
From the bottom left, clockwise: Pietro (Marcella's husband), Nina (Cici's wife), Cici, Piero, Nilla, Salvadore (Rita's husband), Lou, Rita, me, Maria, Elianna's husband, Carmello, and Marcella.

Dinner started late - Italian style... I think the first food came out around 10pm.    We didn't come home till around 12:30.

Unfortunately, Lou is tuned in entirely to the sunrise for wake up time... so he (and Rigo) were up before 6am.  I managed to fall back asleep till 9am after trying to talk Rigo into going back to sleep.   Piero is fully adjusted to the Italian clock and lifestyle... He sleeps soundly and sleeps the best of all of us.   This is a bonus since he's dealing with the bummer of no clothes since his suitcase has still not been found by the airlines.

Later we go facciamo la pranza (have lunch) with Rito, Salvadore, Nilla, and Carmello.  They live about 500km from where we are staying.
